Senior Structural Engineer – PV / BESS

• Create highly complex structural engineering plans, details, and calculations for renewable energy and substation projects.
• Design concrete or steel foundations for project equipment to meet jurisdictional requirements at local, State and Federal levels for various geotechnical parameters and soil types.
• Oversee projects in a portfolio or a suite of projects, acting as Engineer of Record and supervisor.
• Review complete project documents for conformity and quality assurance, and support client interaction for multiple projects.

This role contributes to fighting climate change by designing large-scale renewable energy projects, such as solar PV and battery energy storage systems, which are critical for the energy transition and reducing carbon emissions.

• Bachelor’s degree in structural or civil engineering is required, with Professional Engineering licensure (or Canadian PEng.) required and SE licensure strongly preferred.
• 8+ years of experience in a structural engineering design role, with 2+ years' experience with utility or commercial solar PV systems, substations, or energy storage system design strongly preferred.
• Advanced knowledge of software tools (e.g., RISA 2D/3D/Foundation, Enercalc, L-PILE) and strong familiarity with relevant codes and standards (e.g., ASCE 7, ACI 318, AISC 360/341).
• Advanced ability to read and understand site studies, geotechnical reports, and drawings, with demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects independently and prior supervisory experience desirable.
