Senior Software Engineer

Core responsibilities include:

• Own discrete product areas end-to-end, including clarifying requirements, tech-speccing solutions, implementing backend and frontend changes, shipping, and supporting in production
• Be the owner for specific systems or services, including ongoing improvements, bug fixes, performance tuning, and technical debt management
• Translate product goals into shipped code by breaking down problems into scoped tickets, making pragmatic tradeoffs, and delivering incremental value
• Build and maintain scalable backend systems and APIs while contributing to frontend product surfaces as needed

This role helps commercial real estate owners and operators through their decarbonization journey by developing software that guides evaluation of portfolios and facilitates clean energy transactions, making climate action more accessible.

Required qualifications:

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience with strong backend expertise in Python and SQL
• Experience building and maintaining production systems with real users and solid fundamentals in system design, data modeling, and API design
• Comfort working across the stack and ability to explain technical tradeoffs clearly
• Experience working in startups or other ambiguous, fast-moving environments with a bias toward shipping while maintaining quality
