Senior Software Engineer (IoT)

Core responsibilities:

• Design, implement, and optimize backend and infrastructure solutions to support business growth, delivering major features or system enhancements quarterly
• Monitor and improve system health, proactively addressing performance bottlenecks and outages to reduce system downtime
• Provide code reviews, technical guidance, and mentorship to junior engineers, conducting knowledge-sharing sessions
• Improve CI/CD pipelines, automate deployments, and implement best practices to increase engineering efficiency

This role contributes to Bird's mission of transforming urban mobility by building scalable software solutions that support electric vehicle operations, helping reduce carbon emissions and create cleaner, more connected cities.

Required qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience in STEM with 5+ years of professional, relevant experience
• Strong proficiency in Golang with hands-on experience with IoT devices, real-time data pipelines, and communication protocols
• Expertise in distributed systems, microservices, Kafka, Kubernetes, and AWS for cloud-based architectures
• Proven track record in observability tools (Datadog, Grafana) for system monitoring and debugging

Compensation and perks:

• Salary Range: 137,000 - 185,000 USD
