Senior Software Engineer (IoT)

Core responsibilities:

• Design and develop scalable systems to support business growth, delivering major features or enhancements quarterly
• Ensure system reliability by monitoring and improving system health, reducing downtime through proactive measures
• Mentor junior engineers through code reviews, technical guidance, and structured knowledge-sharing sessions
• Optimize development processes by improving CI/CD pipelines and automating deployments to increase efficiency

This role contributes to Bird's mission of transforming urban mobility by building scalable software solutions that support electric vehicle operations, helping reduce carbon emissions and create cleaner, more connected cities through micromobility.

Required qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in STEM with 10+ years of professional experience
• Strong proficiency in Golang, JVM-based languages (Java, Kotlin, Scala), Kubernetes, and AWS
• Experience with IoT devices, real-time data pipelines, distributed systems, microservices, and Kafka
• Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines, automation tools, and observability tools like Datadog or Grafana

Compensation and perks:

• Target salary range: $165,000 - $190,000
