Senior Software Engineer

Core responsibilities:

• Architect and implement distributed data models using Cosmos DB and MongoDB to support large-scale, high-throughput applications for pharmaceutical, biopharmaceutical, and medical device companies
• Conduct deep query analysis, index optimization, and performance benchmarking to ensure optimal scalability and low latency in multi-tenant SaaS systems
• Build automation scripts for deployment, monitoring, and scaling of database systems, reducing idea-to-live time for business features
• Implement data lifecycle management including backup/restore, TTL policies, and disaster recovery strategies for cloud-native systems

This role contributes to Eurofins BioPharma Product Testing's mission of providing comprehensive laboratory services for the world's largest pharmaceutical, biopharmaceutical, and medical device companies by developing next-generation applications and Laboratory Information Management Systems that support global health testing and research.

Required qualifications:

• 5-8 years in database engineering, architecture, or backend data systems with 3+ years hands-on experience managing Azure Cosmos DB and MongoDB in production
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent with deep understanding of Cosmos DB partition key design, RU/s provisioning, and MongoDB replica sets, sharding, and aggregation pipelines
• Proven ability to design for high concurrency, low latency systems with experience in query profiling, performance benchmarking, and monitoring dashboards
• Strong foundation in distributed systems, NoSQL principles, and data architecture with scripting proficiency in Python, PowerShell, or Bash for automation
