Senior Software Engineer, Back End

• Collaborating with product managers, project managers, and data scientists to develop Google cloud-based tools for generating and storing historic and forecast electric power consumption data and exposing it via APIs.
• Diving into difficult problems facing the US electric grid by ingesting, organizing, and exposing massive data sets, and running mathy algorithms against these data sets.
• Working in our Google Cloud-based tech stack, which includes Python, Django, Ray, Postgresql, and Kubernetes.
• Providing technical leadership in architecting, maintaining, testing, monitoring APIs and related code for organizing data.

This role addresses difficult problems facing the US electric grid by developing tools to organize and analyze massive power consumption data sets, contributing to more efficient and reliable energy infrastructure.

• 5+ years of experience with cloud-based back end application development.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent practical experience.
• Experience building analytic back end applications, particularly for SaaS companies.
• Versatility and enthusiasm for taking on novel challenges and learning new technologies.

The compensation for this opportunity includes a base salary range of $120,000 - $160,000, plus equity (stock options). This is a fully remote role which can be located anywhere within the United States.
