What you will drive
Core responsibilities:
- Provide technical project management and leadership for research projects, ensuring successful outcomes
- Define research direction in collaboration with Principal Investigators (PIs)
- Take the lead on writing up findings, producing reports, and developing publications in peer reviewed journals
- Lead on preparation of proposals and applications to external bodies for funding and contractual purposes

This role contributes to developing foundational theory, methods and tools to advance the state-of-the-art of using AI to model, predict and control physical systems, working closely with Grand Challenges to operationalize technologies for substantial real-world impact.
Profile
What makes you a great fit
Required qualifications:
- A PhD (or equivalent experience/qualifications) in machine learning, AI, computer science, mathematics, statistics, physics, engineering or similar inter-disciplinary subjects
- A solid background in Statistical Machine Learning and/or Scientific Machine Learning, with specific experience in probabilistic and generative modelling, neural operators, surrogate modelling, uncertainty quantification, or application of ML to physical systems
- Experience in developing research software codes and libraries in Python or Julia, ideally with GPU frameworks like Tensorflow, Pytorch, or JAX
- Track record of initiating, developing and delivering high quality research aligned with research strategy
