Senior Remote Sensing Data Scientist, Cal/Val

• Design and implement radiometric calibration and image processing of multispectral infrared imagery from Muon’s FireSat mission.
• Develop and execute the calibration program for the SBEM infrared camera, including pre-launch and on-orbit calibration.
• Research and develop improvements to foundational data calibration and processing, and implement production pipelines.

This role directly supports global wildfire detection, weather monitoring, and environmental monitoring from space, enabling better climate action and disaster response.

• PhD with 3+ years industry experience, or MS with 6+ years, or BS with 8+ years.
• 4+ years of experience calibrating imaging instruments.
• Exceptional Python skills and strong statistical/mathematical skills.
• Ability to work with distributed interdisciplinary teams in a fast-paced startup environment.
