Mission

What you will drive

Core responsibilities:

  • Lead movement-building and strategic mobilization in East Africa by designing impactful campaigns, fostering high-level partnerships, and coaching local groups to strengthen the regional climate justice network
  • Bridge grassroots action with global strategy, managing everything from high-level public representation and media engagement to digital coordination and logistical support of iconic regional campaigns
  • Coordinate and support ongoing organizing work, 1:1 relationship building, and campaign development by local groups and network members
  • Design and deliver creative regional campaign strategies and movement building activities (including trainings and "iconic moments") aligned with 350.org's overarching strategy

Profile

What makes you a great fit

Required qualifications:

  • At least 3+ years of experience as an organizer, facilitator or trainer in social movements, with in-depth knowledge about the African climate justice campaigning landscape
  • 3+ years experience leading, facilitating and designing convening spaces and climate trainings for activists in Africa that aim to empower and connect the movement
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills, with fluency in English and Swahili
  • Experience in organizing and mobilizing across Africa, working with diverse partners, organizing distributed events and managing logistics and administration
  • Proven experience at the intersection of online and offline organizing, including using digital tools and communications to recruit volunteers and sustain engagement
