Senior Quantitative Developer

• Build the backbone of our trading system: Design, implement, and maintain scalable pipelines and resilient infrastructure for deploying, versioning, and backtesting trading algorithms in both auction-based and continuous markets.
• Shape trading strategies: Partner closely with algorithmic traders, energy experts, and engineers to design and deploy execution and optimization algorithms that maximize profitability across multiple wholesale markets.
• Strengthen data-driven trading: Collaborate with the Data Platform team to ensure robust ingestion and processing of signals, logs, and market data, supporting both fast intraday trading and strategic long-term insights.
• Elevate engineering practices: Champion best practices in software engineering, infrastructure-as-code, and MLOps to accelerate iteration while ensuring system reliability, regulatory compliance, and operational excellence.
• Mentor and grow the team: Share your expertise, guide less experienced colleagues, and contribute to building a culture of curiosity, speed, and technical rigor.

This role helps make renewable energy stable and always available by building trading systems that optimize energy assets, leading the charge towards a reliable and predictable renewable energy system.

• Seasoned expert: 5+ years of hands-on experience developing and deploying algorithmic trading models, or building the systems that host them, ideally across continuous and auction-based markets.
• Engineering leader: Strong programming skills (Python preferred) and deep expertise in building robust MLOps and cloud-native solutions. You are fluent in IaC practices and tools (Terraform, CloudFormation) and experienced in designing scalable, fault-tolerant systems.
• Quantitative architect: Experienced in setting up and maintaining backtesting environments, ensuring models are rigorously validated for both performance and risk.
• Full-stack problem solver: Comfortable owning everything from infrastructure to strategy deployment, with the mindset that no problem is “out of scope” if it advances the team’s mission.
• Great communicator: Adept at explaining technical concepts to both technical peers and business stakeholders, helping align decisions across the organization.
• Bonus points: Direct experience in energy trading, especially algorithmic execution in intraday continuous markets, or in developing strategies tailored to the dynamics of energy systems.
