About the Role
As greenfield projects mature, the Senior Project Manager will play a critical role in managing the forward progression of projects alongside our Development team. This includes advising on allocating resources, maintaining schedules, expense tracking, and serving as the project technical expert.
Key Responsibilities
- Responsible for technical and strategic support of utility-scale projects from early-stage through divestment
- Build-out of project plans, Gantt charts, and other supporting materials for development projects
- Utilize critical thinking and problem-solving skills required to reach conclusions from testing results, data collation, and identify the most effective solutions to accomplish objectives of assigned projects
- Facilitate feasibility analyses, engineering and site design, project legal review, procurement, contracting, permitting and interconnect activities, and financial negotiations
- Leverage SMEs to provide technical expertise on critical project issues
- Effectively disseminate key project details and status updates to all levels
- Monitor costs and effectively manage project timelines to deliver financially sound projects
- Maintain a compliant and accurate database of project reports, contracts, and leases in their respective software
- Develop strong partnerships with internal departments, contractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders
- Contribute to a collaborative environment by establishing effective and supportive relationships with colleagues
- Maintain Nova’s high standards of safety for all parties, resulting in zero lost time
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned
Requirements
- 7+ years of progressive project management experience in utility-scale renewable energy projects
- Track record of developing or managing projects through key milestones
- Technical understanding of wind, solar, BESS, and transmission systems
- Supported RFP assembly and response
- Ability to build relationships and disseminate key project details to multiple internal and external stakeholders across cross-functional teams to ensure successful projects
- Proven multi-tasker, with the ability to manage multiple projects with competing priorities in parallel, and delegate to internal and external resources
- Experience building complex project schedules in PM software (Smartsheet, Asana, MS Project, etc.) a plus
- Commitment to mentor junior staff
- Willingness to travel up to 25%
