Senior Program Director

Core responsibilities:

• Support the Friends Grassroots Network through direct support, grantmaking, mentoring, and training to achieve conservation goals for National Conservation Lands and other BLM-managed public lands
• Protect, defend, and expand BLM's National Conservation Lands and other important BLM lands in California by coordinating partners and leading coalitions
• Manage direct reports and provide strategic direction for CLF's California goals, including budget management and staff development
• Collaborate with CLF Communications Team, Policy Team, and Development Team to implement regional communication strategies, establish campaign priorities, and support fundraising initiatives

This role creates positive change by protecting, restoring, and expanding the National Conservation Lands through strategic advocacy and grassroots mobilization, ensuring these premier lands and waters are preserved for future generations while benefiting community health, ecosystems, and climate resilience.

Required qualifications:

• Deep experience in grassroots advocacy and campaigning with proven ability to organize and mobilize diverse communities
• Proven track record in developing, leading, and executing successful campaigns with strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
• Established leadership skills with ability to effectively manage staff and drive cross-functional collaboration
• Proficiency in or desire to learn BLM public lands policy and experience driving coalition strategy with diverse stakeholders
