Senior Power Systems Engineer

Core responsibilities:

• Develop and conduct computer modeling and analysis for transmission planning studies including steady state, short circuit, and dynamic stability analysis
• Perform power system impact studies, NERC-compliance-related technical analyses, and full generator interconnection studies
• Ensure renewable and/or storage resource projects interconnecting to the transmission system meet Voltage Ride-Through requirements
• Prepare technical study reports, process and maintain data, and take responsibility for timely project completion while meeting quality and budget objectives

This role contributes to building a sustainable and secure Grid of the future by focusing on complex engineering and grid modeling challenges, particularly in the renewables space, making an impact on the communities served and the environment.

Required qualifications:

• 5+ years professional experience as a Power Systems Engineer
• Experience performing power system impact studies such as Dynamic Stability, Load Flow, Steady State, Short Circuit
• Experience with power systems software such as PSS/E, PSCAD, Aspen, and TARA
• Experience automating/programming in Python
• Proven team player skills with ability to build and maintain internal and external relationships
• Strong organizational and communication skills, both written and verbal
