Mission

What you will drive

Core responsibilities:

  • Provide support in the preparation and implementation of programmes developed out of the Mission's strategic plan
  • Support AU Member States in articulating common positions on trade-related matters, particularly in WTO and UN committees and working groups
  • Coordinate the activities of the Permanent Delegation on thematic related to trade and economy
  • Provide technical analysis and position documents for the defence of African group interests on trade and economic matters

What makes you a great fit

Required qualifications and skills:

  • Master's in Economics, Trade or related field with minimum 7 years work experience (3 at expert level) OR Bachelor's Degree with minimum 10 years relevant work experience (3 at expert level)
  • Ability to apply economic and trade theories and concepts, conduct independent research, and synthesize economic and trade research for non-specialists
  • Proficiency in one of the AU working languages (Arabic, English, French, Kiswahili, Portuguese, Spanish) mandatory, fluency in another AU language is an added advantage
  • Sound writing and reporting skills, ability to analyze and interpret data in support of decision-making

Indicative basic salary of US$ 37,453.00 (P3 Step 1) per annum plus other entitlements including:

  • Post adjustment (64% of basic salary)
  • Housing allowance US$ 31,003.20 per annum
