Mission
What you will drive
Core responsibilities:
- Follow up on AU-China cooperation on political, peace, security, economic, and commercial matters, including coordination on multilateralism, counterterrorism, and economic policy dialogue
- Serve as liaison point for the Group of African Ambassadors in China and support coordination of African Group efforts on implementing FOCAC outcomes and AU Agenda 2063
- Manage day-to-day cooperation with China on peace, security, governance, counterterrorism, economic development, and industrialization in liaison with relevant AU departments
- Prepare reports, speeches, briefing notes, and correspondence for the Permanent Representative and represent the Office at meetings and conferences

What makes you a great fit
Required qualifications:
- Master's Degree in Political Science, Economics, Social Sciences, Law, International Relations, Development Studies, Security Studies, Public Administration or related fields with 7+ years relevant experience, or Bachelor's Degree with 10+ years experience (3+ at expert level)
- Work experience in public international organizations, diplomatic missions, or similar institutions
- Knowledge in economic development including trade, investment, and industrialization, plus understanding of AU peace and security management efforts
- Supervisory experience is an added advantage
