Senior Policy & Government Relations Analyst

• Review, research, analyze, and communicate the potential impact of energy policy proposals and decisions on clean energy development and operations.
• Represent and protect the organization's interests in legislative proceedings and in the development of market rules and procedures.
• Work with internal teams to identify policy analysis needs, advocacy priorities, and determine impacts of potential policy on business outcomes.
• Monitor industry trends to identify regulatory and legislative risks and opportunities, collaborating with cross-functional teams for effective response.

This role contributes to the global energy revolution by shaping policies that support clean energy development and decarbonization, helping AES meet Paris Agreement goals by 2050 and provide sustainable electricity to 25 million customers worldwide.

• Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Government, Policy or related field.
• 3+ years of relevant experience working in state government or state agency/regulatory affairs pertaining to energy planning and policy.
• Strong preference for experience within CAISO.
• Microsoft Office skills; strong presentation skills and excellent communication of technical subject matter.

The expected salary for this position is between $92,500 and $111,350/Annual. The total compensation package may include annual bonus, full range of medical, dental, vision, life, financial benefits, 401(k) eligibility, and various paid time off benefits (vacation, sick time, parental leave).
