You will curate and maintain a dynamic knowledge base of policy proposals, legislative measures, and regulatory initiatives to provide business relevant strategic insights to support internal stakeholders and facilitate external policy and regulatory engagement. Reporting to the Global Head of Government and Institutional Relations, this role requires a solid understanding of the power sector and a strong grasp of energy and climate policy as well as excellent analytical skills underpinning a passion for shaping the future of clean energy. How youโll make an impact Monitor and analyze policy, legislative, and regulatory developments across the region relevant to the business. Track geopolitical and geoeconomic trends and assess their potential implications for the company. Leverage reports and analysis from European institutions (e.g., European Parliament, ACER, ENTSO-E) and national bodies to identify policy and regulatory changes impacting our businesses. Design and maintain a centralized, structured, and searchable database of key policy documents, regulatory filings, and legislative timelines. Develop dashboards and trackers to visualize policy trends and regulatory risks. Produce high-quality policy briefs, impact assessments, and strategic recommendations to support Communications and Government Relations. Engage early with stakeholders on potential policy and regulatory changes affecting Hitachi Energy businesses (e.g., trade measures, environmental legislation, market developments, technical topics). Monitor and leverage stimulus incentives and funding opportunities at regional, national, and local levels for initiatives such as footprint expansion and innovation. Provide policy insights to guide market positioning, technology development, and investment decisions. Support the preparation of briefings and inputs for engagement with policymakers, regulators, and industry associations. Assist in drafting consultation responses, position papers, and talking points for senior leadership interactions with key stakeholders. Collaborate internally with legal, marketing, business units, sustainability, and other functions to ensure alignment and compliance, and represent the company externally in working groups, forums, and industry coalitions as required. Your background Bachelorโs degree in science, Engineering, Energy, Public Policy, Political Science, or related field with 10-15 years of relevant sector experience. 5-8 years of relevant experience in policy analysis, regulatory affairs, or government relations, in the power sector. Deep understanding of the region and associated policy and regulatory frameworks and processes. Strong writing, research, and communication skills, with the ability to translate complex issues into actionable insights. Experience with knowledge management tools and data visualization platforms is a plus.
