Senior Mechanical Designer, Data Centers (Remote)

Core responsibilities:

• Develop and design Heat Rejection and HVAC systems specifically tailored for data centers, considering cooling requirements, future flexibility, energy efficiency, and compliance with industry standards
• Select appropriate air/water side cooling systems for data centers based on specific cooling requirements and equipment criticality
• Conduct Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) analysis to optimize airflow distribution, identify hotspots, and ensure efficient cooling throughout data centers
• Design HVAC systems with redundancy and fault-tolerant features to ensure continuous operation during equipment failure or maintenance

This role contributes to the design of efficient, reliable data center infrastructure that supports critical technology operations while implementing energy-efficient and sustainable design strategies.

Required skills and qualifications:

• Familiarity with the tech sector, mission critical and data center industry, understanding requirements of scale, speed, and consistency in data centers
• Experience with data center heat rejection and HVAC system design, including cooling system selection and heat load calculation
• Proficiency in Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) analysis for optimizing airflow and cooling performance
• Knowledge of energy efficiency strategies, air quality management, and coordination with electrical and mechanical systems
