Senior Manager, Revenue Accounting

• Serve as the internal expert on ASC 606 and interpret complex contracts to determine proper accounting treatment
• Research, draft, and maintain technical accounting memos for complex, non-routine revenue transactions
• Manage Planet's revenue accounting in North America and APJC, including month/quarter/year-end close processes, journal entries, reconciliations, and reporting
• Act as primary liaison for all internal and external audit activities pertaining to revenue recognition and related controls

This role supports Planet's mission to use space to help life on Earth by ensuring accurate revenue accounting that enables the company to deliver satellite data to commercial, environmental, and humanitarian sectors, helping solve the world's toughest obstacles.

• 6+ years of revenue accounting experience at both public and private companies
• 4+ years of supervisory and/or leadership experience
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or other quantitative major
• Excellent understanding of US GAAP and ASC 606 principles in SaaS or software-focused industry
• Experience with Netsuite and Salesforce
• Expertise in Excel

• Salary ranges: New York City + California: $136,000-$170,000 USD; San Francisco: $144,500-$180,600 USD; US National: $127,000-$158,700 USD
