Senior Manager (Ph.D.)

• Using expertise in metallurgical engineering and materials science to solve diverse and often complex materials problems affecting a range of clients
• Identifying, developing, and securing new business opportunities
• Developing and mentoring staff in both technical and business areas
• Leading hands-on failure analyses, materials characterization, metallurgical analysis, and field inspections, and communicating results to internal and external stakeholders

This role contributes to creating a safer, healthier, more sustainable world by solving complex engineering and scientific challenges for clients, helping them innovate technologically complex products and processes while ensuring safety and addressing sustainability.

• Ph.D. in Metallurgical Engineering, Materials Science and Engineering, or related discipline
• Proven track record of business generation and attracting new and repeat clients or funding
• Strong background in materials characterization techniques (e.g. metallography, SEM, EDS, FIB, and/or X-ray radiography/diffraction, etc.) and failure analysis (e.g. fractography, metallurgical analyses, etc.)
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Adept management abilities and demonstrated project management experience
• Chartered Engineer (CEng) status with the Engineering Council (UK)
