With a diverse portfolio spanning conservation, public health, education, and more, Multiplier offers a unique opportunity to contribute to meaningful global change while being part of a high-performance, rapidly growing team of approximately 150 employees.

About This Role

As the Senior Manager, Payroll and Retirement Plan Administration, you will own the end-to-end payroll function and retirement plan administration, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency. Your work will directly support the organization's financial health and employee satisfaction, enabling Multiplier to focus on its mission of creating a better world.

💡 A Day in the Life

A typical day might involve reviewing payroll data for accuracy, processing payroll for all employees, and resolving any discrepancies. You might also handle retirement plan contributions, respond to employee inquiries, and collaborate with HR to ensure new hires are set up correctly. Additionally, you'd spend time on compliance reporting and looking for ways to streamline processes using the HRIS system.

🎯 Who Multiplier Is Looking For

  • A seasoned payroll professional with 7+ years of experience in multi-state payroll processing, preferably in a nonprofit or mission-driven environment, with a strong understanding of federal, state, and local payroll regulations.
  • Expertise in payroll systems (e.g., ADP, Paychex, or Workday) and proficiency in HRIS integration, with a track record of streamlining processes and implementing automation to improve accuracy and efficiency.
  • Deep knowledge of retirement plan administration, including 401(k) or 403(b) plans, compliance testing, and annual reporting (e.g., Form 5500), with experience managing plan audits and employee communications.
  • A detail-oriented, organized professional with excellent communication skills, able to collaborate cross-functionally with Finance, HR, and external vendors, and provide exceptional employee support.
  • A proactive problem-solver who thrives in a fast-paced, growing organization and is comfortable with change and continuous improvement.

⚠️ Common Mistakes to Avoid

  • Submitting a generic resume or cover letter that doesn't address Multiplier's mission or the specific requirements of this role.
