Mission
What you will drive
- Lead the development and implementation of key aspects of EDFโs California-based work, including education and policy advocacy campaigns to support major workstream priorities.
- Manage consultants, coordinate among multiple EDF workstreams and experts, and own relationships with key stakeholders, influential decisionmakers, and government agencies.
- Represent EDF and organizational positions to external stakeholders as a key on-the-ground presence in Sacramento.
- Manage 1-2 junior staff members and independently guide specific projects.

Profile
What makes you a great fit
- Minimum of eight yearsโ experience working to effect change in California, with a demonstrated history of success in state environmental policy through engagement with industry, regulators, elected officials, and other stakeholders.
- Bachelorโs degree or equivalent in science, policy, economics, or law related to the environment; Masterโs degree may substitute for up to two years of work experience.
- Experience with California legislative process and politics, and solid understanding of political dynamics surrounding environmental issues.
- Demonstrable people and project management skills, and ability to represent EDF in public and with the press.
