Mission

What you will drive

Principal accountabilities:

  • Developing and checking hydraulic models to assist the design of Flood Alleviation Schemes, deliver Flood Risk Assessments and conduct reservoir flood studies
  • Develop water quality models using industry standard software
  • Conceptualisation and scoping of modelling approaches, with consideration of the risks and opportunities in each
  • Lead and input into tenders ranging from innovative one-off projects to multimillion pound framework contracts
  • Mentor staff within the team to support their professional development
  • Build relationships with clients and across other technical disciplines

This role helps clients deliver a wide range of fluvial, coastal, surface water or drainage flood risk management projects, contributing to flood prevention and water resource management that protects communities and infrastructure.

Profile

What makes you a great fit

  • Experience developing and checking hydraulic models using packages such as Flood Modeller, TUFLOW, Mike 11, Mike 21, HEC-RAS and ICM
  • Experience developing water quality models using industry standard software e.g. MIKE, Delft3D, SIMCAT and/or ICM
  • Experience undertaking and checking hydrological assessments including Flood Estimation Handbook, ReFH2 and WINFAP
  • Ability to keep up-to-date with developments in legislation and guidelines that may affect services
  • Experience using project management systems to deliver high-quality outputs in line with agreed programme and budget
