Mission

What you will drive

As a Senior Financial Analyst at Mozilla Foundation, you will work on:

  • Financial Planning & Budgeting: Design and manage the annual budgeting process, develop financial models for strategic planning, partner with functional leaders to forecast budgets, prepare monthly budget vs. actual analyses, and manage cash flow forecasting.
  • Reporting & Analysis: Produce monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, analyze financial performance across programs and operations, create dashboards and data visualizations, and conduct ad hoc analyses to support strategic decisions.
  • Technology & Systems Management: Serve as the subject matter expert for the Foundation's FP&A platform, design and maintain financial models and reporting templates, continuously improve financial systems and processes, and train colleagues in the use of financial tools.
  • Strategic Partnership & Other Duties: Act as a trusted financial advisor, support strategic planning processes, provide financial support for grant proposal development, support investment performance reporting, and provide backup support for accounting activities.

Profile

What makes you a great fit

  • 7+ years of progressive experience in financial planning and analysis, including at least 4 years in nonprofit, foundation, or grantmaking environments.
  • Demonstrated experience managing complex budgets (approximately $30M+) and multiple entities, with strong experience in restricted funding and grant compliance.
  • Expert-level proficiency with FP&A platforms, particularly Workday Adaptive Planning (Adaptive Insights) or similar tools, and advanced Excel or Google Sheets skills.
  • Strong understanding of nonprofit accounting principles and experience with nonprofit accounting systems such as Sage Intacct or NetSuite.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills, with the ability to explain financial concepts to non-financial audiences and work effectively in a remote-first environment.
