Mission
What you will drive
Core responsibilities:
- Develop and execute a strategic communications plan to advance the Foundation's policy goals on federal and state levels
- Create policy communications materials for traditional and social media, including press releases, blog posts, advocacy materials, and talking points
- Develop and execute a rapid response program for key policy moments and coordinate with aligned organizations
- Provide strategic communications support for state and federal advocacy days and integrate stories of people with PD into policy communications

Profile
What makes you a great fit
Required skills and qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Policy, Political Science, or related field
- 7+ years of experience in policy communications, advocacy, or media relations (Capitol Hill, state legislature, or federal agency experience)
- Demonstrated ability to analyze and translate complex policy issues for general public audiences
- Strong interpersonal skills with experience building relationships with reporters, external partners, and advocates
