Senior Director of Legal Advocacy

• Develop and lead Animal Outlook's legal advocacy strategy
• Identify and pursue impact litigation and legal advocacy opportunities
• Monitor legislation and regulatory developments
• Draft and oversee legal filings and advocacy materials
• Provide legal guidance to internal teams
• Manage outside counsel and coalition partners
• Supervise legal staff and consultants
• Manage legal budgets and contracts
• Represent AO in coalitions and public advocacy efforts

The Senior Director of Legal Advocacy will lead the organization's legal advocacy strategy to challenge animal agribusiness practices, influence policy and regulatory outcomes, and advance systemic change through litigation, regulatory advocacy, and policy engagement.

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
• Admission to a U.S. state bar
• Significant experience in legal advocacy or public interest law
• Litigation experience
• Leadership and management experience
• An entrepreneurial spirit
• Strong legal research and writing skills
• Experience within the animal protection movement
