Senior Database Developer (MongoDB)

Responsibilities

• Architect and implement distributed data models using Cosmos DB and MongoDB to support large-scale, high-throughput applications
• Conduct deep query analysis, index optimization, and performance tuning for Cosmos DB and MongoDB databases
• Build automation scripts for deployment, monitoring, and scaling of database systems
• Partner with development and DevOps teams to design data access layers, API integrations, and infrastructure as code templates

This role contributes to Eurofins BioPharma Product Testing's global network of laboratories that provide comprehensive testing services for the world's largest pharmaceutical, biopharmaceutical, and medical device companies, helping ensure product safety and quality.

Required skills and qualifications:

• 5–8 years in database engineering, architecture, or backend data systems with 3+ years hands-on experience managing Azure Cosmos DB and MongoDB in production
• Deep understanding of Cosmos DB (partition key design, RU/s provisioning, indexing, consistency models) and MongoDB (replica sets, sharding, indexing strategies, aggregation pipelines)
• Proven ability to design for high concurrency, low latency, and multi-tenant SaaS systems
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent with demonstrated experience with Cosmos DB and/or MongoDB at scale
