Senior Data Engineer

Core responsibilities:

• Build modern data services by planning, designing, and developing data engineering projects with big data frameworks and microservice integration
• Enable industry-leading asset optimisation by building infrastructure for performant data science methods to optimise energy assets on the electricity grid
• Design and implement efficient ETL processes to streamline data integration and transformation
• Ensure data quality and consistency across multiple data sources while maintaining high standards of data integrity

This role creates positive change by enabling the clean energy transition through data-driven decisions that transform the electricity grid in the UK and beyond, supporting Arenko's mission of building a sustainable future by enabling a zero-carbon grid worldwide.

Required qualifications:

• Degree level education in computer science or related discipline OR equivalent workplace experience
• Extensive experience delivering projects focused on data collection, storage systems and data pipelines
• Advanced Python skills with focus on writing clean, maintainable, production-ready code
• Experience with end-to-end development and deployment of data-focused software services
• In-depth understanding of ETL technologies and best practices
• Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases and big data frameworks like Spark, Pulsar
