Senior Backend Engineer - Ruby on Rails (m/f/d)

• Own backend services in the Rails codebase end-to-end, from data model over API to background processing.
• Drive architectural decisions for the Corporate Carbon Footprint (CCF) module, focusing on scalability and performance of data-heavy workflows.
• Set technical direction for the Rails codebase, ensuring code quality, scalability, and long-term maintainability.
• Lead by example through code reviews, pairing, and architectural discussions to elevate the team's engineering standards.

This role directly contributes to reducing corporate carbon emissions by building the backbone of a carbon accounting platform that helps large organizations measure and reduce their environmental footprint.

• 7+ years of backend software development with expert-level Ruby on Rails expertise.
• Deep experience with Postgres at scale: schema design, query optimization, indexing, and migrations on live data.
• Track record of designing and evolving backend systems in data-heavy production environments.
• Fluent in English; EU residence with valid work permit required.
