Senior Backend Engineer

• Own problems end-to-end: from a loosely defined need through system design, implementation, and production deployment, including any supporting internal tooling required along the way.
• Build and maintain backend systems and data pipelines that process image-derived agricultural data at scale.
• Solve algorithmic problems around how we extract, transform, and serve insights from imagery working at the intersection of software engineering and data.

This role helps farmers make critical operational and agricultural decisions that maximise yield and efficiency by building systems that process agricultural data at scale, contributing to Aerobotics' mission to provide intelligent tools to feed the world.

• 4+ years of professional software engineering experience, ideally in Python, with a track record of shipping production systems at tech-driven companies.
• Demonstrated experience designing and building systems from scratch, not just contributing to existing ones.
• Experience building and operating systems that run at scale.
• Ability to move fast and make deliberate trade-offs between rigour and speed, and to justify those decisions.
