Senior Attorney, Texas Clean Affordable Power

• Lead EDF's legal and regulatory advocacy for clean energy in Texas, primarily representing EDF before ERCOT and the Public Utility Commission of Texas (PUCT).
• Develop briefs, motions, litigation filings, and administrative comments to advocate for clean energy priorities and ensure policies have robust legal underpinnings.
• Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to set advocacy goals, develop strategies, and build relationships with stakeholders including community organizations and policymakers.
• Conduct legal research, prepare analyses, and represent EDF at external venues such as conferences and hearings to influence decision-makers and advance clean energy infrastructure.

This role creates positive change by advocating for clean, affordable energy solutions in Texas, which helps reduce power sector emissions, enhance grid reliability, and deliver health and climate benefits, moving toward a sustainable energy future.

• 7+ years of relevant professional experience, including at least 3 years practicing before ERCOT and/or the PUCT; experience in both ERCOT and non-ERCOT regions of Texas preferred.
• Juris Doctorate from an ABA-accredited law school and an active bar membership in Texas, in good standing, required.
• Proficiency with ERCOT and PUCT procedural rules and conventions, and familiarity with major energy issues facing Texas (e.g., load growth, electrification, renewable generation).
• Excellent oral and written communication skills, with demonstrated experience in regulatory advocacy, litigation, and/or policy development at the state or federal level.
