Mission
What you will drive
- Lead EDF's legal and regulatory advocacy for clean energy in Texas, primarily representing EDF before ERCOT and the Public Utility Commission of Texas (PUCT) for utility practices supporting timely, affordable electrification.
- Develop briefs, motions, litigation filings, and administrative comments; conduct research and prepare legal analysis on issues facing Clean Affordable Power and relevant teams.
- Assess legal rigor of policy proposals, ensure priority policies have robust legal underpinning, and influence decisionmakers through legal filings, comments, meetings, and stakeholder engagement.
- Build relationships with strategic partners, including environmental justice and community-based organizations; support fundraising and coordinate across EDF teams to ensure alignment with strategies and goals.

Profile
What makes you a great fit
- 7+ years of relevant professional experience, including at least 3 years practicing before ERCOT and/or the PUCT; experience in both ERCOT and non-ERCOT regions of Texas preferred.
- Juris Doctorate from an ABA-accredited law school and active bar membership in Texas, in good standing, required.
- Proficiency with ERCOT and PUCT procedural rules; familiarity with major energy issues facing Texas (e.g., data centers, electrification, grid planning, renewable generation, market design).
- Excellent oral and written communication skills; ability to work independently and collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team across time zones; commitment to EDF's mission and values.
