Mission

What you will drive

Lead EDF's legal and regulatory advocacy in support of clean energy in Louisiana, primarily representing EDF before the Louisiana Public Service Commission and the Midcontinent Independent System Operator (MISO).

  • Partner with directors and attorneys across the EDF U.S. Region team to set and advance project goals, objectives, strategies, and tactics for clean energy and utility regulatory advocacy.
  • Lead the development of briefs and motions, draft litigation filings and administrative comments, and conduct research on legal, legislative, and regulatory issues.
  • Influence decision makers through legal filings, official comments, and stakeholder engagement, and represent EDF at critical external venues like conferences and hearings.
  • Build, grow, and maintain relationships with strategic partners, including environmental justice and community-based organizations, and support fundraising efforts.

Profile

What makes you a great fit

  • 5+ years of relevant professional experience, including at least 3 years of practice directly relevant to Louisiana energy regulation (e.g., before the Louisiana Public Service Commission, MISO, or Southwest Power Pool).
  • Juris Doctorate from an ABA-accredited law school and an active state bar membership in good standing, with proficiency in Louisiana Public Service Commission and MISO procedural rules.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate technical and policy findings to diverse audiences, and strong analytical, research, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team across multiple time zones, manage multiple complex projects simultaneously, and travel up to 10% of the time.
