Security Analyst - Purple Team

Core responsibilities:

• Conduct application security assessments and vulnerability scanning
• Perform network security testing and penetration testing
• Assist in cloud security assessments (AWS/GCP)
• Help validate security controls and defensive measures
• Create and maintain security testing documentation
• Develop automation scripts for security testing and validation
• Support WAF rule development, maintenance and testing
• Review and assess GitHub Actions workflows for security risks
• Collaborate with Blue Team to improve detection capabilities

This role helps improve ChargePoint's security posture through hands-on testing and validation of security controls, contributing to building the EV charging industry and making electric mobility a global reality.

Required qualifications:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Software Engineering or related field
• 1-3 years of experience in information security
• Understanding of web application security testing and OWASP Top 10
• Familiarity with common security tools (Burp Suite, Nmap, Metasploit)
• Knowledge of scripting languages (Python, Bash, PowerShell)
• Basic understanding of cloud services (AWS/GCP)
• Experience with Windows domain environments
• Understanding of WAF concepts and common evasion techniques
• Understanding of GitHub Actions security best practices
• Familiarity with API security testing
• Good communication and documentation skills

Preferred qualifications:

• Security certifications (CEH, Security+, eJPT, or similar)
• Experience with CI/CD security integration
• Knowledge of containerization and container security
• Experience with WAF solutions (AWS WAF, Cloudflare)
