How to Apply for Sales Development Representative - US East (Remote)

at SWTCH Energy

🏢 About SWTCH Energy

SWTCH Energy is a mission-driven pioneer in EV charging solutions, focusing on multifamily and commercial properties across North America. They are committed to making clean mobility accessible, including for low-to-moderate income housing, and have a lean, motivated team. Working here means contributing to a tangible environmental impact while being part of a fast-growing company.

About This Role

As an SDR for the US East region, you'll be the frontline of SWTCH's growth, identifying and nurturing leads through outbound initiatives and relationship management. Your work directly fuels the company's expansion and helps bring EV charging to underserved communities, making your role both strategically and socially impactful.

💡 A Day in the Life

A typical day might start with reviewing a list of target accounts and conducting research on new prospects using LinkedIn and industry databases. You'll spend a significant portion of your day making outbound calls and sending personalized emails to property managers and developers, then log interactions in the CRM and follow up with leads. You'll also have virtual meetings with the Business Development team to align on strategy and share insights from your outreach.

🎯 Who SWTCH Energy Is Looking For

  • Proven experience in outbound sales development or lead generation, with a track record of meeting or exceeding targets.
  • Strong research skills to identify and understand prospective accounts in the multifamily and commercial real estate sectors.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills to maintain current client relationships and engage new prospects.
  • Passion for clean energy and a desire to contribute to a mission-driven organization.
  • Self-motivated and comfortable working remotely, with the ability to manage time and priorities effectively.

📝 Tips for Applying to SWTCH Energy

1

Tailor your resume to highlight specific outbound sales achievements, such as number of leads generated or conversion rates, rather than listing generic responsibilities.

2

In your cover letter, explicitly mention your interest in SWTCH's mission of accessible clean mobility and any experience you have with EV charging or sustainability.

3

Research the US East market for EV charging regulations and incentives, and mention them in your application to show you understand the landscape.

4

Quantify your sales results with metrics (e.g., 'increased pipeline by 30%') and include examples of successful cold outreach strategies you've used.

5

Since the role is remote, emphasize your self-discipline and experience with remote work tools (CRM, LinkedIn Sales Navigator, etc.) in your application.

✉️ What to Emphasize in Your Cover Letter

["Highlight your alignment with SWTCH's mission and your passion for sustainability and clean energy.", 'Demonstrate your understanding of the multifamily and commercial property market and the unique challenges of selling EV charging solutions.', "Showcase your outbound sales experience with specific examples of how you've generated leads and built relationships.", "Explain why you're interested in the US East region and any relevant knowledge of local market dynamics."]
