Rural Development Specialist, Self-Help Housing (Job #351) ($76,103 - $83,976)

Core responsibilities:

• Facilitate and deliver technical assistance to rural and Tribal communities and partner organizations to identify, plan, and execute community economic development projects
• Provide training and technical assistance to Mutual Self-Help Housing grantees to help them meet deliverables under their Section 523 grants
• Work with grantees and USDA Rural Development staff to ensure efficient grant management, identifying obstacles and recommending improvements to enable homeownership opportunities for low- and very low-income families
• Deliver technical training at conferences, institutes, workshops, and via webinars, and participate in rural development networks and associations

This role creates positive change by enabling homeownership opportunities for low- and very low-income families in rural and Tribal communities through technical assistance, training, and efficient grant management.

Required qualifications:

• BA Degree or equivalent experience, plus three years of experience in community and/or housing development field
• Experience working to build coalitions around identifying ways to leverage local assets to overcome barriers and pursue opportunities
• Experience working with underserved and/or rural communities
• Proficient computer skills with Microsoft Office programs, and proficient English language in both written and verbal communication
• Valid driver's license and proof of insurance meeting RCAC requirements, must pass criminal background investigation

Salary range: $76,103 - $83,976 USD annually. Work is typically performed remotely in a home office. Travel required up to 12-16 site visits or meetings per quarter in multiple states. RCAC is an equal opportunity employer committed to diversity.
