Research Programme Manager (Maternity Cover)

Core responsibilities:

• Lead on the management of several grant funding schemes, including Catalyst Awards and Advancing Treatments Awards, overseeing application rounds, peer review, and committee functions
• Manage and oversee project delivery of the Foundation's active project portfolio, including building relationships with award holders, approving grant payments, and monitoring project progress
• Support the implementation and development of the Foundation's Grant Management Software (Flexi-Grant) and work with the research team to oversee the research programme budget
• Identify opportunities to communicate the progress or impact of funded work and develop compelling communications for supporters

This role creates positive change by managing grant funding schemes that support research into Motor Neurone Disease (MND), helping to advance treatments and improve outcomes for people living with MND through effective research administration and impact evaluation.

Required skills and experience:

• Educated to PhD level or with equivalent experience in a science subject relevant to MND
• Experience of research management, including the management of grant schemes, preferably with experience using Flexi-Grant
• Proven project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Experience of research communications, including the ability to disseminate complex scientific information to non-technical audiences

Salary: £42-44k dependent on experience. Working pattern: 0.6 FTE (happy to discuss flexible working arrangements). Location: Home-based from anywhere in the UK with frequent travel across the UK.
