Research Officer

Responsibilities

• Support the scientific foundation, development, and coordination of the Adolescent Health Study (AHS), focusing initially on supporting the development of the AHS pilot
• Contribute to methods selection, co-development of materials and assessment processes, writing of protocols and ethics submissions, and preliminary testing of processes
• Conduct comprehensive literature reviews, support development of piloting tools and protocols, engage with schools, adolescents and parents, and address operational and logistical considerations
• Support meetings and workshops, write-up feasibility testing findings, and contribute to revisions on plans based on findings

This role contributes to establishing a globally leading open science data platform and research resource that will follow the mental and physical health of at least 100,000 young people over 10+ years, enabling research on critical biological and social developments during adolescence.

Required skills and experience:

• Master's degree in epidemiology, public health, social sciences, or a related discipline
• Demonstrable experience in supporting research studies, preferably in population and/or adolescent health
• Ability to translate complex findings into clear, actionable insights and synthesize literature for diverse audiences
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team

Full-time role with flexible working arrangements. The organization operates across the UK with flexible working required across several geographical locations. Travel may be required to AHS locations, fieldwork sites, and partner organizations.
