  • Accelerate and guide AI safety researchers, facilitating high-impact projects
  • Work with mentors and scholars to provide feedback, drive projects to completion, and support career development
  • May specialize in theory, engineering, management, or communication
  • Spearhead internal projects and contribute to strategic planning and development of MATS

Required qualifications:

  • 2-5 years experience across project management, research management, people management, technical research, governance, or mentoring
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Strong listening skills and empathy
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities
  • Strong alignment with our mission, and familiarity with the basic ideas behind AGI safety and catastrophic AI risk

  • Compensation: $130,000-$200,000 annually for Berkeley roles and £85,000-£130,000 for London roles
