What you will drive
Core responsibilities:
- Intensive training modules and mentoring in public writing and argument
- Produce targeted arguments engaged in the news-cycle for publication in both in-house and national media, with specific output quotas (usually 2+ per month)
- Collaborate with the Civic Thought Initiative at Yale University, including an in-person residency and participation in salon-style discussions
- Develop longer-term academic work in the candidate's given field and handle administrative responsibilities tied to the initiative's broader work

Required qualifications:
- A PhD in Philosophy or a related field (or exceptional cases of intellectual journalists with strong publication records)
- Demonstrated intellectual interest in pressing philosophical issues facing society, with aptitude in philosophical anthropology and topics like humanism, technology, virtue, and societal purpose
- Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills
- Strong academic records in research and publication, with experience in public writing and engaging with media/social media preferred
