Mission

What you will drive

Core responsibilities:

  • Manage, prepare, and analyze nest and habitat datasets
  • Develop and implement statistical and spatial analysis approaches to assess nest site fidelity and habitat associations
  • Conduct targeted literature reviews, collaborate with internal project teams, and participate in meetings
  • Draft high-quality, peer-reviewed manuscripts and/or technical reports based on work packages

This role plays a critical role in informing conservation strategies and the sustainable planning of renewable energy infrastructure by investigating how hen harriers interact with wind energy developments in Ireland.

Profile

What makes you a great fit

Required qualifications:

  • MSc or PhD in ecology, conservation biology or related field
  • Proficiency in statistical programming in R or Python with experience applying GLMMs in ecological research
  • Experience with spatial analysis using QGIS, ArcGIS, or equivalent software
  • Strong analytical skills and experience working with large ecological datasets
  • Strong critical thinking skills with ability to develop research questions and interpret ecological data
  • Demonstrated ability to write and publish in peer-reviewed journals
