Research Director

The Research Director at the Center for Democracy and Technology (CDT) will play a crucial role in defining, promoting, and influencing technology policy and the architecture of the internet. This individual will be responsible for leading research efforts, collaborating with various stakeholders, and contributing to the development of policies that impact daily life. The Research Director will work closely with the CDT team to strengthen individual rights and freedoms, with a focus on areas such as AI policy and governance, cybersecurity, elections and democracy, equity in civic tech, free expression, government surveillance, open internet, and privacy and data collections.

This role contributes to protecting democratic values in the digital age by advancing policies that preserve an open, innovative, and free internet while safeguarding privacy rights.
