Research Analyst/Programme Associate – Distributed Renewable Energy

Key Responsibilities

• Review reports, journal papers, and other relevant research publications on distributed renewable energy (DRE) and its grid integration at national and sub-national levels
• Collect DRE-related data to create comprehensive state-level databases for analysis and assessment
• Analyze data pertaining to existing and emerging challenges with DRE and its integration with the grid
• Conceptualize and implement projects related to increasing the share of grid-connected distributed renewable energy technologies
• Develop trust-based relationships with key stakeholders including discoms, regulators, state nodal agencies, developers, and research organizations
• Assist in project execution through activity planning, stakeholder management, and donor engagement

This role contributes to accelerating India's energy transition by increasing the share of distributed renewable energy and its integration into the grid, working toward a decarbonized electricity sector that provides reliable and affordable electricity services to all.

Required qualifications and skills:

• Bachelor's degree (Master's preferred) with specialization in renewable energy technologies, economics, public policy or related field
• Up to 3 years for Research Analyst or 4-6 years for Programme Associate of relevant work experience in research, policy/industry engagement and project management in electricity policy, distribution, energy modeling and renewable energy
• Strong ability to organize, process, and analyze large data sets used in power/energy models
• Proficiency in MS-Excel is a must; understanding of STATA/R/Python and data visualization tools is an advantage
• Excellent written and oral communication skills in Hindi and English
• Ability to work in interdisciplinary and multicultural environments with strong interpersonal skills
