Research Analyst/ Programme Associate

Core responsibilities:

• Carry out power system simulation studies for transmission and distribution networks to identify infrastructure needs and assess the role of renewable energy and energy storage
• Design and simulate modelling scenarios for transmission and distribution systems, analyzing outputs to distill policy, regulatory and market design insights
• Analyze data related to high renewable energy penetration and identify mitigation strategies through technology solutions, regulatory enablers, and innovative procurement mechanisms
• Produce high-quality research reports, policy briefs, blogs, and presentations, and effectively communicate findings during stakeholder consultations

This role creates positive change by enabling reliable integration of renewable energy into India's power grid through advanced modelling and analysis, helping to build a stable, resilient, and cost-effective power system that supports clean energy transition.

Required qualifications and skills:

• Master's/bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering/Power Systems/Power Engineering/Energy Engineering or related fields
• 3-4 years of relevant work experience in power system modelling using software such as MATLAB, Simulink, ETAP, DigSILENT, PSCAD, PSSE
• Proficiency in Excel and Python for analysis, with strong quantitative and analytical skills
• Experience in stakeholder engagement with utilities, regulators, and market participants, with good understanding of power market regulations and grid codes
