Mission
What you will drive
Development Expertise Lab is a research and consulting firm in International Development. We run a growing policy and sustainability intelligence practice serving global strategy and political risk consultancies, whose own clients include multinational beverage manufacturers, agricultural input companies, asset managers and corporate foundations. This role sits within that practice.
We are recruiting a Research Analyst to take over a portfolio of policy intelligence work currently supporting a global political risk and strategy consultancy. The work is desk-based policy research on different topics. Over the past year we have produced global policy databases on water, agriculture and sustainability disclosure; market readiness frameworks for biodiversity and water credits; sector risk and trend reports for the beverage industry and for asset managers; daily analytical coverage of multilateral summits; and stakeholder mapping for international conferences. The successful candidate will work on similar assignments.
Candidates must meet the following criteria:
- A master's degree in Environmental policy, Sustainability, Development studies, Public policy, or a closely related field.
- At least two years of research experience in a consultancy, think tank, research centers or comparable analytical setting.
- Knowledge of environmental markets, including carbon, biodiversity and water credit mechanisms.
- Outstanding written English
- Attention to details
- The ability to work under very tight deadlines across several concurrent assignments, and the judgement to flag early when a deadline is at risk.
- Working knowledge of Excel, Stata, R or Python for data handling and visualisation.
