Request for Proposals, Pathogen-Agnostic Biothreat Detection

This RFP seeks proposals for work targeting human pathogens with pandemic potential. Key responsibilities include:

• Developing computational detection methods for known and novel pathogens.
• Advancing sample processing methods for more sensitive, sequencing-based detection and rapid validation of sequences of concern.
• Modeling pathogen-agnostic biosurveillance system features.

This work will enhance global capacity to detect and respond to emerging infectious diseases, reducing the risk of pandemics and protecting public health.

Ideal applicants are groups with expertise in:

• Computational biology, bioinformatics, or pathogen detection.
• Sample processing and sequencing technologies.
• Modeling and systems analysis for biosurveillance.

Multiple awards are expected across three technical areas, with a combined total of up to $5 million across the entire RFP.
