We are looking for a Remote Sensing Data Engineer to conduct geospatial analyses,develop reporting tools and infrastructure, manage GIS data, and work cross-functionally with other team members. We are seeking a proactive and collaborative self-starter with intimate knowledge of remote sensing and data engineering. A successful candidate will be adaptive and creative with a depth of knowledge in remote sensing, an understanding of geospatial datasets used in natural resource management, strong analytical skills, and proficiency in one or more programming languages.
This position will report to the Director of Carbon Science on the Living Carbonโ€™s Commercial Team. We are an efficient and highly collaborative team of project development experts. We strive to develop innovative best-in-class reforestation projects that bring value to our partners and the environment.

Profile

What makes you a great fit

Required qualifications:

  • MSc or PhD with 2+ years in Data Science, Computer Science, Remote Sensing, GIS, or related field
  • Proficiency in Python, R, Java, SQL with experience using geospatial libraries and machine learning analytics
  • Strong skills in GIS software (ArcGIS, QGIS, Google Earth Engine) and remote sensing data processing
  • Experience building data pipelines, ETL processes, spatial databases, and working with cloud computing platforms
