About the Role

The role involves providing strategic leadership and oversight to ensure high-quality services are delivered by volunteer groups, aligned with Read Easy UK's strategy.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership, guidance, and oversight to ensure volunteer groups consistently deliver high-quality services aligned with Read Easy UK's strategy
• Support local volunteer leaders to strengthen group performance and foster collaboration across affiliated groups
• Find volunteers to pioneer three new groups in counties without Read Easy presence and provide high-quality support to existing groups
• Conduct meetings with Team Leaders, host volunteer forums, and deliver presentations and training for volunteers

This role helps transform adults' lives by enabling them to learn to read, which reduces isolation, improves confidence and wellbeing, provides access to training and employment, and breaks cycles of intergenerational disadvantage.

Required qualifications:

• Live within specified areas in West Midlands, Warwickshire, Oxfordshire, Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, Hertfordshire, Bedfordshire, Northamptonshire, Leicestershire, or Rutland
• At least two years of employment working with volunteers
• Strong people management and interpersonal skills
• Excellent communication skills and confidence to run meetings and deliver presentations

Compensation and perks:

• Annual Salary £25,973 (85% FTE) - £30,385 (100% FTE)
• 25 days holiday plus bank holidays and Christmas closing
• 2 days volunteering leave (pro-rata for part time)
