R&D Engineer

• Design, conduct, and supervise experiments to test scientific theories to discover/validate properties of materials and processes.
• Develop scientific theories and mathematical models to explain physical phenomena like vibrations, sound, acoustics, thermal, heat flow and predict future behavior.
• Analyze and interpret large amounts of data using complex mathematical calculations, computer simulations, and through use of software like Python or MATLAB.
• Plan, perform and review calculation/simulations and qualification tests on various types of parts and processes of capacitor products.

This role contributes to the design and development of capacitor products, supporting Hitachi Energy's mission to advance sustainable energy solutions and ensure safety and integrity in operations.

• Master’s degree in physics (PhD preferred in Thermal, Sound and Acoustics) with 4-5 years of experience in manufacturing industry, preferred in high voltage switchgear.
• Strong analytical and mathematical skills, excellent problem-solving abilities, curiosity, creativity and persistence.
• Proficiency with data analysis and computer simulations, familiarity with laboratory equipment and experimental techniques.
• Product knowledge of HV equipment/capacitors preferred, hands-on experience with 3D model/PLM tools like Creo 4.0, Windchill, and SAP.
