Mission
We are looking for a Project Manager to join our team and coordinate the implementation of some of our projects in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC).
Start date: As soon as possible
Location: Based in the DRC
Team: Bluesquare is a company of more than 70 collaborators across several countries. We value autonomy, flexibility, communication, and teamwork.
Role & responsibilities
Project Management
-
Monitor the project from design to completion, including delivery of the final solution and capacity building.
-
Oversee project implementation and ensure it achieves its objectives.
-
Use and update Bluesquare’s project management tools (JIRA and Odoo).
-
Communicate with donors, beneficiaries, and clients regarding daily implementation and contract management.
-
Identify the needs and requests of clients and partners, and define short- and medium-term roadmaps in coordination with partners, country managers, and technical leads.
-
Ensure the quality of deliverables and reports in collaboration with technical leads.
Technical interface
-
Basic proficiency in GIS (Geographic Information Systems) with knowledge of mapping software (QGIS, ArcGIS) and geographic database management (PostgreSQL, GDAL, GRASS).
-
Know and understand Bluesquare’s portfolio of technical solutions as well as their capabilities and limitations.
-
Participate in continuous analysis of client needs and advise on solutions to be implemented.
-
Coordinate with the technical team throughout the project to ensure deliverables meet requirements.
-
Acquire basic technical skills in the tools used in the projects (Tableau, DHIS2, OpenHexa).
-
Basic knowledge of remote sensing is an asset.
You will report directly to the Project Management Lead and work under the supervision of a Practice Lead depending on the projects you are assigned to.
Potential projects you may work on:
-
Projects related to geographic data: health facility mapping, population mapping, improvement of spatial reference systems, etc.
-
Projects related to malaria control: implementation of a data warehouse, automated reporting bulletins, indicator monitoring dashboards.
-
Projects related to vaccination: improving vaccination supervision systems.
Profile
We are seeking a candidate with strong knowledge in public health and significant project management and technical skills.
**Required: **
-
A degree in public health, health statistics, international cooperation, geography, or health geomatics.
-
Strong experience in GIS: QGIS required; GDAL/OGR or GRASS appreciated.
-
Experience in geospatial data management and analysis (quality control, cleaning, geoprocessing operations, spatial analysis methods).
-
Knowledge of the health system and administrative structures in the DRC.
-
Professional experience in large international development or global health projects.
-
Previous experience in GIS projects, health mapping, geo-registers, or health information systems (HIS).
-
Experience managing medium to large projects in a multicultural environment.
-
Experience in client relations and multi-stakeholder collaboration.
-
Experience in the design and implementation of digital projects.
-
Excellent written and spoken communication skills in French and English.
-
Experience managing budgets / P&L.
Preferred:
-
Experience with DHIS2, ODK/KoboToolbox or similar tools, and geospatial data such as OpenStreetMap.
-
Experience in projects involving complex data analysis.
-
Knowledge of programming and software development processes.
-
Experience in capacity building.
-
Experience working remotely in distributed teams.
-
Experience in team coordination.
Soft skills:
